Huckleberry Young : Fine Wooden Spoons

Artist : Maker : Fine Wooden Spoons

Huckleberry Young is an artist and maker of fine wooden spoons. He lives in Central France, with his wife, four children and a slightly deranged fox terrier called Flea. He is surrounded by some of the oldest and unspoiled deciduous forests in Europe, from which he collects local hardwoods to make into spoons. All wood is carved 'green' and fresh, which is not only easier to work, but infinitely more poetic in its outcome. Each spoon takes between 4-8 hours, and thus represents a great deal of skill and work. You can buy direct from this website, or on Etsy and Folksy. You can also buy from him at many artisan markets here in the Limousin, or simply by knocking on his front door with bundles of cash. Trade enquiries are very welcome, particularly if you have a big and sparkly shop in a winning location, and charge low rates of commission.
