A Letter from the GoSpaces Team

We’re shutting down GoSpaces.

For the last two years, GoSpaces has been on a mission to make it fun and easy to try out business ideas, and we are proud to say that we have helped over 100,000 businesses do just that.

However, beginning today, we're winding down the platform, and GoSpaces will be fully retired by January 16th, 2017. We’ll continue to host and support all published Spaces until then, and we’re working hard to make this transition as smooth as possible for all our users. During the sunset phase, we are committed to maintaining the service and helping you shut down or transition your Space to Shopify.

We enjoyed working with each of you, and we have deep admiration for the businesses you have created. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Thank you for using GoSpaces.

Shutdown FAQ

What happens to my website?

As of January 16th, 2017, GoSpaces will no longer be available. This means your Space will not be publicly accessible and you will not be able to log in after that date, so you will need to have a transition plan in place for a new website or online store. We will email all paid customers and free users to help with the transition process in the coming weeks.

How can I build a new site to replace my Space?

We’re pleased to be offering all our subscribers a free extended trial of Shopify. The length of the trial will depend on your subscription tier; we'll reach out via email to provide your code and redemption instructions. 

All of our users will receive an email that provides their promo code and redemption instructions. Please note, the free trial only covers the monthly basic plan ($29/month value), which means you will still be accountable for any transaction fees that apply to your sales.


What happens to the subscription I recently paid for?

If you have purchased a monthly or yearly subscription, you will receive a complete refund for the subscription fee. If you have bought a domain using GoSpaces, you will also be refunded the domain registration fee and have the option to transfer that domain to Shopify, and from there to another third party provider.


What happens to my subscribers?

If you are running a subscription service we can send you an export of your customers’ data or you may log into your account and export the data yourself.  

How can I get customer support?

Our customer support team will offer full technical support via email at help@gospaces.com. Customer support will be offered up until January 20th, 2017.

What happens to my data?

Your data will be deleted on January 20th, 2017 and cannot be downloaded. Accounts may be deleted sooner by contacting support at help@gospaces.com.


What happens to my domains?

If you have purchased a domain through GoSpaces, you may be eligible for a refund. All domains purchased through GoSpaces will be transferred to Shopify, and can then be transferred to another third party. We will reach out to domain holders directly via email to coordinate the transfer process.

Please note: GoSpaces (Shopify) is a reseller of OpenSRS domains. If you want to manage your domain settings directly, please email help@gospaces.com and our support team will send you your OpenSRS log-in credentials.
